Hope of Families, Hope of Our Nation
A MOST REWARDING Mercy Ministry of our Light of Jesus Family is the Pag-asa ng Pamilya.
As often said, the youth is the hope of our motherland. But what if the youth have no hope to be our hope? These are the youth– who are out of school because their parents have no means to finance their education.
So, Pag-asa ng Pamilya grants youths in need scholarships enabling them to have the all-important education they need to have a stable livelihood that makes them yes, truly the hope of their families.
Yes, careers that make them productive citizens making them truly the hope of our nation.
Pag-asa ng Pamilya is one of the Mercy Ministries began by Bro. Rey Ortega, longtime dedicated member of our Light of Jesus Family. Bro. Rey is now in heaven, but LOJ, through efforts of our founder, Bro. Bo Sanchez, and Bro. Hermie Morelos, head of our LOJ Mercy Ministries, continues our Pag-asa ministry, giving yes, hope, to our youth in need and their families.
Pag-asa ng Pamilya Scholarship Foundation holds assemblies where everyone sees the priceless reward of this Ministry: the joy of seeing youth happily hopeful to be truly the hope of their families.
Bro. Hermie Morelos, also chair of the Pag-asa ng Pamilya ng Pamilya Scholarship Foundation, graced the assembly on January 19, 2025, inspiring the students, and expressing gratitude for the support of their parents and members of the Foundation’s Board of trustees.
Here, we share Bro. Hermie’s inspiring welcome message.

BRO. HERMIE MORELOS:
A very warm welcome to everyone!
It is with immense joy and pride that we gather today for this momentous occasion – a face-to- face meeting with our esteemed scholars of the Pag-asa Ng Pamilya Scholarship Foundation.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our esteemed Board of Trustees, the dedicated staff of Pag-asa Foundation, and most important, to our invaluable partners in this journey – the parents and guardians of our scholars.
Your unwavering support and guidance are the bedrock upon which these young minds thrive.
Today, we celebrate the remarkable achievements of our scholars. Eight of you successfully graduated last year, a testament to your unwavering dedication and hard work. We are particularly proud of the scholar who graduated with high honors, Magna Cum Laude. Your exceptional academic performance serves as an inspiration to all of us. To those who have successfully passed their Licensure Examinations, we extend our warmest congratulations. You have not only achieved academic excellence but have also embarked on a fulfilling career path.
To our continuing scholars, I urge you to remain steadfast in your pursuit of knowledge.
Embrace the challenges that lie ahead with resilience and determination. Remember that education is a lifelong journey, and it is through continuous learning and personal growth that you will reach your full potential.
As we celebrate these achievements, let us also take a moment to reflect on the importance of gratitude and respect. I encourage each of you to express your sincere gratitude to your parents and guardians for their unwavering support and sacrifices. Their love and guidance have been instrumental in your success.
Let us emulate the humility and selfless service exemplified by St. John the Baptist. He recognized the importance of pointing others towards the light, acknowledging that “He must increase, but I must decrease.”
In the same spirit, let us strive to be beacons of hope and inspiration to others, sharing our knowledge and uplifting those around us.
I am confident that with your dedication, the unwavering support of your families, and the guidance of the Pag-asa Foundation, our scholars will continue to soar to new heights and make significant contributions to our society.
Thank you, and may God bless us all.
