JEWELS CONFERENCE
P100.00 for a Home of Hope
NOWADAYS, there isn’t much P100.00 can do. But Yes! the amount can start a Home of Hope.
That’s what the Jewels Conference confidently, courageously, began at SMX Convention Center Manila, Mall of Asia Complex Pasay City, on August 8, 2026.
Dubbed P100 Brick Challenge, the project will build a new home of hope for the Jeremiah 33:6-7 Foundation, our shelter for young girls, particularly victims of sexual abuse.
First held on April 30, 2016,
Jewels Conference has become an annual one-day gathering mounted by women servant leaders of our Light of Jesus Family to focus on issues affecting women.
Since then, Jewels Conference has provided a safe, faith-based space for women across all ages and seasons of life– from teenagers and students, single women, wives, mothers, and grandmothers — to enable them to pause, worship, share personal stories, and build sisterhood.
Thus, Jewels Conference has been helping women to navigate personal journeys, heal from past scars, and balance their roles, careers, relationships, and dreams.
Paying Forward
While blessing the women,
Jewels Conference has given them the opportunity to pay forward the blessings they have received by naming beneficiaries of each Jewels Conference.
The Jewels Conference on August 8, 2026, chose as beneficiary the Jeremiah 33:6-7 Foundation, our shelter for young girls, particularly victims of sexual abuse.
It aims to guide the girls in their journey towards a life of dignity, happy, healthy Christian living.
To do this, Jeremiah conducts psycho-spiritual counseling for the girls while providing for their daily needs.
We started the Jeremiah shelter in a unit of a building provided by sponsors in Manila. But there came a time the unit had to be turned over to descendants of the sponsors. So, we had to put up a new home for the girls. Now, the best available place is a part of the five-hectare property in Montalban, Rizal, where we have put up our Anawim Home for Abandoned Elderly.
The Jeremiah girls now stay in a temporary building. But yes, Jewels Conference has begun the project dubbed P100 Brick Challenge, putting up a makeshift wall where participants were encouraged to post their names, prayers, and generous gifts for the girls’ future home.
What began as a blank wall has become a symbol of what can happen when people unite around a shared purpose: providing the girls with a safe place to heal, hope, and begin again.
While construction is still ongoing, the growing home stands as a testament to the generosity and collective effort of everyone who has taken part.
Fulfilling a Promise
With the Jewels Conference organizers, we express our deepest gratitude to everyone who visited the booth, contributed what they could, and helped bring the vision for the new home closer to reality.
The initiative raised more than ₱130,000 toward the completion of the new Jeremiah 33:6-7 Foundation home.
Why Jeremiah 33:6-7?
The Jeremiah 33:6-7 Foundation began through Bro. Reylindo E. Ortega (right, with Bro. Bo), a faithful member of our Light of Jesus Family, who established the Foundation to complete his dream of a string of foundations that include Grace To Be Born, Inc., for women in crisis, Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Children’s Home for orphans, and Pag-asa ng Pamilya Scholarship Foundation for out-of-school youth.
For his ministry, Bro. Rey received the Blessed
Teresa of Calcutta Award in 2012. On January 4, 2018, Bro. Rey passed on, but the Mission lives on.
Our LOJ founder, Bro. Bo Sanchez, has encouraged support for the Mercy Ministries, with Bro. Hermie Morelos (right) as chairman. We have sustained the Mission through financial donations, mainly from contributions of our Feasters, and campaigns for more donor support through our Media Ministry which includes this, our The Feast Family online newsmagazine.
If you wish to extend help for the completion of the Jeremiah Foundation home, check out details on feastmercyministries.com/give.
This way, like Jewels Conference, you are being God’s instrument in fulfilling His promise in the Bible verse after which the Foundation was named–
Jeremiah 33:6-7: I will bring health and healing…I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.”
