ANAWIM HOME FOR ABANDONED ELDERLY
Feast Dasmariñas Year 13: A Celebration of Love
By BRO. MELVIN MAMADO
Feast Builder
FRESH from the joy of Feast Dasmariñas 13th Anniversary, we knew that we couldn’t keep the celebration to ourselves– for love that big is meant to be shared.
On September 14, 2025, The Feast Dasmariñas family took that love and brought it all the way to our Anawim Home for Abandoned Elderly where our beloved lolos and lolas welcomed them with open arms and even wider smiles.
It wasn’t just a visit– it was a divine encounter. When two families come together, one bearing gifts, the other hearts wide open, both go home richer in love, laughter, and light.
From heartfelt conversations to shared prayers and songs, it was clear: Jesus was in the room. Through every donation—be it adult diapers, underpads, wet wipes, or even a simple touch or smile—God’s love was made visible.
A Heartfelt Thank You
To everyone who gave and served: Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ. Your support made a difference not just in the lives of the elderly, but in ours too.
Blessed beyond measure to serve our beloved elderly during our visit at Anawim.
Because even under gray skies, the day was warmed by the love of the Feast Dasma community and the smiles of the lolos and lolas made the day brighter.
As the skies poured out rain, Heaven was pouring out grace.
So blessed to co-serve with you brothers and sisters at The Feast Dasmariñas Thanks to all who supported and gave time, talent, and treasure.
Thanks to the pillars and the different ministries for the support and Bro. Robert Perez and Sis. Dyan Perez for spearheading this.
May God reward everyone immensely
Empowered by the Holy Spirit
Anawim Lay Missions is the very first Mercy Ministry of the Light of Jesus Family. LOJ began when devoted Catholic couple Gene and Pilar Sanchez were invited to attend a prayer meeting. They attended, together with their children– five daughters and one son, the youngest, Bo Sanchez.
As part of the blessings for LOJ members, the Sanchezes eventually attended the Light of the Spirit Seminar.
Empowered with the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, the Sanchezes would eventually form their own prayer group. They started with a fellowship in the garage of their home at 56 Chicago Street, Cubao, Quezon City, on September 9, 1980.
Initially, they got busy sustaining the prayer group and building sister prayer groups and branches in other parts of the country.
In 1994, some LOJ members wanted to become missionaries, going as far as giving up their jobs.
Not long after, their hearts’ desire was granted — a mission field on a five-hectare land located at Sitio Tañag, Barangay Isidro, Montalban, Rizal, donated by LOJ member Sis. Trinidad ‘Neneng’ Mangahas and her family.
Bro. Bo then received inspiration from the Holy Spirit to put up on the property a haven for the abandoned he called Anawim, after the Hebrew word which means God’s poor.
Thus, the Anawim Lay Missions came alive in December 1994 to establish the Anawim Home for Abandoned Elderly. And it has sustained operations through financial support from portions of Feast tithes, and visits of Feasters and other generous supporters celebrating their special occasions in Anawim, bringing much needed donations and gifts for our lolos and lolas.
Here are Feast Dasmariñas members blessed with joy with the Anawim elderly.
