JESUS CHRIST CARES FOR CANCER FOUNDATION
Inspiration and Hope for 2026
AFTER its Christmas celebration held on December 17, 2025 (which we featured in The FEAST FAMILY February 1, 2026 issue), the Jesus Christ Cares for Cancer (JCCFC) held its first General Assembly at Feast Ortigas, Robinsons Galleria, Quezon City on January 21, 2026, gathering servants, caregivers, donors, supporters, and beneficiaries to outline the Foundation’s goals for this year.
At right, Bro. Gary Puno, JCCFC president, leads the Assembly, discussing plans and encouraging active participation of the beneficiaries.
Research about cancer, fastest is to Google about it, and you get quick information through the now popular Artificial Intelligence (AI – computer science performing tasks that require human intelligence).
And AI says: “Cancer is a large group of diseases characterized by the uncontrolled growth and spread of abnormal cells, often forming tumors that invade other parts of the body (metastasis). It is caused by genetic mutations, with risks stemming from lifestyle factors (tobacco, obesity), environmental exposures (radiation, chemicals), and infections. Diagnosis involves imaging, biopsies, and blood tests, while treatment includes surgery, chemotherapy, and immunotherapy, with recent research advancing precision medicine.”
Participation
Bro. Gary enumerates beneficiaries’ participation in JCCFC’s activities: to attend the monthly gathering, learn from the carefully selected motivational speakers and various empowering programs, update the Mercy ministry of any significant changes in the patient’s health condition, social status, address, contact details, among others.
Group Sharing
JCCFC Coordinators meet with the beneficiaries, listening to their concerns and sharing details of their service for them.

Cancer is a most dreaded disease first, because it’s horribly painful and just about dooms the afflicted to death. Next to that, we fear the excessive cost of treatment or management of the disease. AI notes that in the Philippines, chemotherapy alone (using drugs to kill cancer cells) costs between P20,000 and over P120,000 per session, with total treatment exceeding P1 million. That’s exorbitant enough even for the well off. That’s impossible to afford for the poor.
By God’s grace, Jesus Christ Cares for Cancer endeavors to ease the burden of the afflicted.
BLESSINGS
For those who missed our earlier article, here’s backgrounder on JCCFC/
Jesus Christ Cares For Cancer was born through Bro. Reylindo “Rey” Ortega, a devoted member of our Light of Jesus Family.
It started with Bro. Rey’s heart-wrenching meeting with Brian, a 7-year-old boy who succumbed to cancer in July 2013.
In May 2015, Bro. Rey himself was diagnosed with Stage 4 prostate cancer. With only six months to live, he resolved to spend his remaining days serving indigent cancer patients.
JCCFC was officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission on September 28, 2015.
Without missing a second, our founder, Bro. Bo Sanchez, has relentlessly led LOJ in supporting JCCFC, especially through financial assistance.
We are able to inspire donors and supporters through campaigns of our media arm, Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television, led by Bro. Randy Borromeo, president.
He said, “Even if we may not know what each beneficiary is going through, God does — and He is faithfully watching over every single one.”
Yes, we bless each one of them. But we are the ones receiving blessings a hundredfold as God promised faithful givers.
Help us encourage more supporters to be part of this life-changing mission. Donations, big or small, bring hope and healing to those who need them most.
