JESUS CHRIST CARES FOR CANCER

Building Livelihoods

GIVE a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

This popular quote is mostly attributed to the Chinese philosopher Lau Tzu.

Another source is Anne Isabella Thackeray Ritchie, English writer in the late Victorian era, who wrote in 1885: If you give a man a fish, he is hungry again in an hour. If you teach him to catch a fish, you do him a good turn. Other sources are Jewish teachings and African proverbs. –https://www.google.com/search?q=Who+said..

That message came to life during the Jesus Christ for Cancer General Assembly held at the Feast Ortigas Center, Robinsons Galleria, on October 15, 2025.

We were incredibly blessed to have Prof. Alice Lucas conduct a hands-on livelihood workshop for our beneficiaries and their families.

Thank You!

Prof. Lucas conducts hands-on workshop for our beneficiaries and their families, teaching them how to make Filipino favorites like Tocino.

Not only can this help provide nutritious meals, but it also opens up a potential livelihood opportunity.

Above, right, even our volunteer-coordinators enjoy the interactive session!

We were also honored to be joined by friends from Shepherd’s Voice Radio and Television (SVRTV). They conducted interviews with our beneficiaries and volunteers for an upcoming feature that aims to raise awareness about JCCFC and help us reach more donors.

We also thank Ms. Lucy, a brave cancer warrior, who donated essential medicines for some of our beneficiaries.

In gratitude, we prayed over her, asking for her swift and full healing.

This month’s gathering was even more special as we welcomed new volunteer-coordinators and new beneficiaries into our growing family.

Their presence strengthens our mission to care, serve, and support even more individuals battling cancer. A beautiful moment, truly a day filled with gratitude, love, and hope.

Yes, we are beyond grateful. As we reminded everyone during the event: “Be thankful to Him for everything He has given us – even our trials and challenges in life.”

You can be a blessing too. Help us continue supporting cancer patients and their families through any of the following ways:
